Electroseining

Souris River

For scientific research, it was essential that the areas where the Salmon were to be released to be electroseined. This allowed to have a count of the fish and species in the six areas of the Souris River, where the Salmon were to be released. These areas will be examined in the years to come, in order to study and understand the life of the River. The Rainbow Trout, due to their known agressive behaviour to other fish species, were removed and carefully transported to Gallant's Pond in Rollo Bay.
