Ring-necked Pheasant Release - 2008

The Souris & Area Branch and the P.E.I. Chapter of Pheasants Forever Organization jointly released 19 wild Ring Necked Pheasants that were live-trapped in Nova Scotia in the late spring of 2009.

These birds (14 females and 5 males) were banded and released in the Eastern Kings Area.

Hopefully these birds that live in the wild in Nova Scotia are more robust and adaptable than the stock we attempted to introduce in the 1970`s from ranches.

The photos are from a 2008 release of 50 birds in Eastern Kings. The birds in 2008 were ranched.
