Appearance of a Striped Bass

This was Ron Berrow's - a resident of the United Kingdom, first time fishing in Canada. Mr. Berrow, accompanied by local angler Cameron Ross, was at this location on the north side of the Fortune River for about five minutes, when he hooked a nice sea trout. Unfortunately he lost it when he went to flip it on shore About 20 minutes later he hooked the striper. Ron is 78 years old. It took a good ten minutes to land it. The visitor had a good workout. Mr. Ross was happy he had his camera with him. Following the photograph, the fish was released unharmed to be caught again another day.

To local knowledge, this may have been the first of this species caught in the area..
