Good News - Accentuating The Positive Buffalo roast, other delicacies on menu for annual Souris wildlife dinner BY NANCY WILLIS This year’s fundraising event features roast buffalo by Chef Pedro Pereira and baked Atlantic salmon with all the trimmings. There will also be an incredible array of delicious wild animal delicacies, some of which diners may never have tasted before. Member Fred Cheverie reminds everyone that once again there will be a special mystery dish for those with exploratory taste buds. The dinner and live auction takes place this weekend at St. Mary’s Hall in Souris on Sunday, Dec. 14 with hors d’oeuvres at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5. The live auction will feature a variety of outdoor equipment as well as framed prints from the Atlantic Salmon Federation, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and more. Highlighting the evening will be awards to the winners of this year’s wildlife photo contest, organized by Waldron Leard, which had an astounding 1,486 entries. The photos were judged by an international panel of professional photographers from Mexico, Denmark and the United States. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Elliots General Store, Vernon D'eon Lobster Plugs, Burke's Custom Metal and the Souris Legion.
