Good News - Accentuating The Positive BY NANCY WILLIS SOURIS - The Souris and Area Wildlife Federation is hosting a digital photo contest this fall as a tribute to the scenic beauty of the Eastern Kings area and to encourage appreciation of the natural environment. Waldron Leard is administering the contest which is open to everyone with interest in the environment and its inhabitants. "The contest is aimed at promoting exploration and engagement in the world around us," said Leard. The contest closes Oct. 22, which organizers say should give participants ample opportunity to capture the plants, animals and countless natural settings that abound in the Souris and Eastern Kings area. All entries must be in digital format and will be accepted via email at wleard@isn.net. A panel of photography experts will review all the entries to determine a grand prize winner. The grand prize is a 7.2 megapixel digital camera donated by Main Street Home Hardware Building Centre. For specific information on contest rules check the Souris Wildlife Federation website at www.souriswl.ca or on numerous information sheets posted throughout the Souris area. The Souris branch of the P.E.I. Wildlife Federation is encouraging everyone to participate and share their outdoor experiences with other nature enthusiasts in the area.
