A Rare and Endangered Species

Protect Your Wildlife

The Piping Plover nests on this
beach and disturbance to nesting
birds can cause nesting failure,
nest/chick abandonment and loss
of critical feeding time.

You Can Make A Difference!

Walk along the water's edge
and avoid the upper part of
the beach
Keep pets on a leash
Do not linger in the area
Do not leave litter

Piping Plovers are protected by law.
Fines for deliberate disturbance to the birds or
destruction of nests can be issued up to $50,000

Report violations to the PEI Department of
Environment, Energy and Forestry 368-5000
